Hello, I'm Lucia
I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expatriate living in Florence, Italy.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t part of our long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The early months were challenging — unfamiliar systems, fresh routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that felt right for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Sivma Rotel Nuv
Most information online was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical experience drawn from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when a genuine change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Italy continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I will keep documenting our discoveries.
If you have questions about family life in Florence or anywhere in Italy, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Cheers,
Lucia
